How long does it take for optimal vision to return with IOL implantation

After IOL implantation, it usually takes about three months for the patient’s vision to stabilize and remain in the best condition. After cataract IOL implantation, the position of IOL is unstable and corneal edema may occur, so the patient’s vision may fluctuate. Usually, about three months after surgery, the IOL stabilizes, the cornea returns to transparency, and the patient’s vision can reach a stable state. After cataract surgery, patients usually have corneal edema, posterior elastic lamina folds and other corneal lesions, which can lead to poor vision on the first day after surgery, or even worse than before the surgery, and will usually improve gradually. However, patients with poor fundus condition also have poorer vision after cataract surgery and patients need fundus treatment. It is recommended that patients after IOL implantation follow the doctor’s instructions for care, have regular checkups, and seek prompt medical attention when discomfort occurs.
