Disinfectant water has a role in killing novel coronaviruses. Novel coronaviruses are a class of RNA viruses with an envelope, so when the envelope is disrupted by disinfectants, the RNA is also very easily degraded, thus inactivating the virus. Because of the envelope, novel coronaviruses are sensitive to organic solvents and disinfectants. Chlorinated disinfectant water can be effectively disinfected and sterilized by directly diluting it in a plastic jug for tables, chairs, beds, walls, floors, etc. Disinfect dishes, vegetables and fruits with 5‰ potassium permanganate, soak for 1 minute and then rinse again with clean drinking water.
