Most of the headaches behind the right ear are considered to be a kind of temporal neuralgia, which is a primary neuralgia, the exact cause of which is not clear. Most of the patients can have several or even dozens of attacks per day. The main treatment is symptomatic, and the commonly used drugs are carbamazepine and phenytoin sodium. It may also be caused by intracranial organic lesions, which are usually seen in pontocerebellar horn tumors, and cranial MRI is used to make a clear diagnosis if necessary.
