Risk of amniocentesis

Amniocentesis has certain risks, as follows: 1. Amniocentesis is an invasive test that uses a fine needle to enter the amniotic cavity, which may cause bleeding, hemorrhagic shock, amniotic fluid outflow, miscarriage and fetal injury; 2. The culture of amniotic fluid is affected by various factors such as the time of amniocentesis, whether the specimen is mixed with blood, and contamination of the culture medium, so there is a possibility of failure of amniotic fluid culture, and sometimes the diagnosis cannot be made because of the gammoplasty; 4. For example, although amniocentesis can exclude the proposed diagnosis of chromosomal abnormalities, it is sometimes difficult to distinguish some minor abnormalities of chromosomes and cannot exclude some polygenic diseases or other causes of fetal malformations or abnormalities; 5. If there is invisible infection in the pregnant woman before surgery or poor postoperative hygiene conditions, there is a possibility of intrauterine infection; 6. If the pregnant woman is combined with cardiovascular disease, due to pain, tension and other stimuli, there is a the possibility of cardiovascular accidents.
