How to reduce the swelling of low protein edema

Low protein edema is mostly seen in patients with advanced malignant tumors. In this case, if the patient can eat normally, he or she should consume high protein foods, including fresh meat, beef, mutton, seafood and fish, which can be supplemented by food. If the patient has difficulty eating, intravenous plasma supplementation as well as human albumin injection can also be used. Also, diuretics can be used to reduce edema after the plasma colloid pressure rises, and most importantly, the treatment of the primary disease. If the patient’s condition allows, targeted drug therapy or systemic intravenous chemotherapy can be given to control the tumor progression. Many patients exhibit significant anemia and hypoproteinemia due to the continuous consumption of advanced tumors. Therefore, for patients with malignant tumors if detected early, they should be given timely targeted treatment.
