Integrated multidisciplinary treatment of lung cancer

  Over the past half century, the surgical treatment of lung cancer in China has made brilliant achievements, especially in the popularization of surgical treatment, the reduction of surgical mortality and complications, and the improvement of long-term survival rate. However, due to the fact that most patients are already in the middle and late stages when they are diagnosed and the limitations of surgical treatment itself, the effectiveness of surgical treatment for such patients seems to be at a standstill at present.  Meanwhile, radiotherapy and chemotherapy for lung cancer have gone through the same process and faced the same dilemma. The blind and arbitrary application of various treatment methods and the beautiful name of “a hundred flowers bloom and each one exhibits its own strengths” and the disorderly use of various so-called “new technologies” have caused great blindness in the treatment of lung cancer and also brought a heavy financial and mental burden to patients and families. At the same time, it brings heavy financial and mental burdens to patients and families.
