Information for patients with indwelling hemodialysis catheters

     Hemodialysis catheters, as an important vascular access method, have the advantages of rapid placement and ease of use, but are not considered permanent vascular access and can cause more problems with long-term use. If possible, autologous arteries should be established.  1, early after intubation at any time to observe the cannula wound skin or gauze for blood oozing, swelling, such as bleeding, the use of local pressure to stop bleeding, and timely access to the hospital; 2, pay attention to keep the local skin clean, dry, such as tunnel ooze, redness and swelling available sterile cotton swabs, gauze cleaning; 3, life should avoid wetting the catheter, bath available waterproof materials to protect the catheter (recommended the use of disposable anal bag) Once wet, replace the dry sterile gauze as soon as possible.  4. Pay attention to fixing the catheter, avoiding pulling and squeezing, and avoiding special positions such as upside down; 5. Avoid damaging the catheter with hard objects and wearing rough clothes to wear the catheter.  6.If you encounter catheter dislodgement and dislodgement of the fixed suture, you should fix the catheter in time and go to the hospital as soon as possible. If possible, try not to remove the catheter completely to create conditions for reintubation. Do not plug back the catheter at will to avoid infection.
