Laparoscopic treatment of congenital hypertrophic pyloric stenosis

Laparoscopic treatment of congenital hypertrophic pyloric stenosis Congenital hypertrophic pyloric stenosis is a common disorder of the neonatal period and accounts for the 3rd most common gastrointestinal anomaly. The common clinical manifestations of the month: the appearance of symptoms does not start from the second to third week after birth, the frequency and intensity of vomiting will gradually increase, with progressive service aggravation, often after feeding, the vomiting of bile-free food fed initially back to milk, followed by jet vomiting, the child has a strong desire to eat after vomiting, but after feeding, vomiting again, long-term vomiting can appear malnutrition, wasting, more than 50% of children currently hospitalized for this disease in China There are different degrees of malnutrition. Treatment: Surgery should be performed as soon as possible after the diagnosis is confirmed. The surgical team led by Dr. Xiao Dong was the first in Guangdong Province to successfully carry out laparoscopic treatment of congenital hypertrophic pyloric stenosis, and the application of minimally invasive techniques for the treatment of congenital malformations in newborns in our hospital has reached a leading level in the province. The disadvantage of traditional surgery is that if the abdominal incision is small, it will be difficult to operate, easy to cause gastric vascular injury and gastric crush injury, and if the abdominal incision is large, the postoperative recovery is slow and unattractive. In addition, all open surgery will cause more or less intestinal adhesions after surgery. Therefore, laparoscopic surgery has the advantages of avoiding open abdomen, reducing trauma, lowering the incidence of abdominal complications, and is gradually recognized and accepted by parents of children with small incision, light trauma, less pain, fast recovery, inconspicuous and beautiful scars, fast recovery of intestinal peristalsis after surgery, reduction of adhesions, and early feeding, and experts at home and abroad believe that laparoscopic technology is the most ideal new means of treating congenital hypertrophic pyloric stenosis.
