What is the prognosis for heart failure?

The prognosis for patients with acute heart failure and chronic heart failure differs. Acute heart failure has a better prognosis, while chronic heart failure has a relatively poor prognosis. If acute heart failure is caused by rapid intravenous infusion, symptomatic management is sufficient and the prognosis is better. The prognosis of chronic heart failure is related to the underlying disease. If the patient actively controls the underlying disease, the prognosis is relatively good; if the patient has an underlying disease such as hypertension and does not take medication for control, resulting in changes in the structure of the heart, the prognosis is relatively poor.
