The placement of defibrillation refers to the placement of the two electrodes of the defibrillator, which are routinely placed in anterolateral and anteroposterior positions. The anterolateral position is where two electrodes are placed at the level of the right subclavian and left midaxillary nipple. In the anterior-posterior position, the electrodes are placed in the anterior chest at the level of the apex and in the posterior back opposite the apex. The electrodes of the defibrillator are marked, one at the apex of the heart and the other at the base of the heart. Therefore, in practice, one is to find the two positions and the other is to place the two electrodes in conjunction with the markings on the electrodes.
