Are warts contagious?

  Condyloma acuminatum is a verrucous growth that occurs primarily around the genitalia outside the anus. Some patients have oral sex and can occur on the oral mucosa and tongue. The causative agent is the human papillomavirus, or hpv for short. Condyloma acuminatum also belongs to the category of sexually transmitted diseases and is contagious. The incubation period ranges from 2 weeks to 8 months, with an average of 3 months. The source of infection is the infected patient. The main means of transmission is sexual intercourse, but also contact with the patient’s clothing, towels, etc. The resistance of the host is also important.
