The H. pylori blood test is to detect H. pylori antibodies in the blood to determine if the person has been infected with H. pylori, and a positive result indicates that the person has been infected with H. pylori. A positive result means that you have been infected with H. pylori. However, if you are currently infected with H. pylori, you will need to take a carbon 13 or carbon 14 breath test. A positive breath test means that you are currently infected with H. pylori, and you will need to be treated based on the symptoms of your stomach, as well as your gastroscopic findings. If you have stomach indigestion, acid reflux, heartburn or gastroscopy suggests inflammation or ulcers in the sinuses, further anti-H. pylori treatment is recommended.
