Postpartum abdominal pain (postpartumabdominalpain) is the name of the disease in Chinese medicine. After delivery, due to the contraction of the uterus, the abdomen is in paroxysmal pain, which appears in 1 to 2 days after delivery and disappears naturally in 2 to 3 days, which is called “contraction pain” and “postpartum pain” in Western medicine. If the abdominal pain increases in paroxysms and is unbearable, or if the abdominal pain is continuous and painful and affects the recovery of the mother, it is pathological and should be treated. According to Chinese medicine, postpartum abdominal pain is mostly caused by the poor operation of qi and blood, and is usually divided into two types of evidence: stasis obstructing the uterus and deficiency of both qi and blood. If the abdominal pain after childbirth is due to excessive blood removal and pain, it is blood deficiency pain; if the pain is due to less dew removal and stagnation of blood, it is surplus pain; if the pain is due to diet, it will be evil food and distension; if the pain is due to wind and cold taking advantage of the deficiency into the uterus, it will be cold pain. 1. Stasis obstructs the uterus, mostly due to poor operation of Qi and blood after delivery, stagnation and obstruction. It can be due to postpartum injury to blood, the hundred veins are empty, the blood is weak, the implementation is weak, resulting in poor blood flow and stagnation; it can also be due to postpartum weakness, the cold evil takes advantage of the deficiency and enters, the blood is cold condensation, stagnation of blood within the stop, not pass is pain. 2.Qi and blood deficiency can be caused by blood deficiency, or excessive blood loss during childbirth, deficiency of Qi and blood vessels, or weakness of Qi and blood, weakness of blood transport, poor blood flow, stagnation and pain; it can also be caused by carelessness of life after childbirth, cold evil taking advantage of the deficiency and entering, or cold diet, cold clotting of blood, or poor emotion after childbirth, liver qi stagnation and blood stasis, or poor excretion of dew after childbirth.
