Rivaroxaban Tablets, is an anticoagulant and a newer anticoagulant. It acts primarily in adult patients undergoing elective hip or knee replacement surgery to prevent venous thrombosis. It is used in the treatment of venous thrombosis in adults to reduce the risk of acute venous thrombosis, recurrence, and pulmonary embolism, and in adult patients with non-valvular atrial fibrillation with a history of one and more risk factors congestive heart failure, hypertension, diabetes mellitus, stroke, and transient ischemic attack to reduce the risk of stroke and systemic embolism. Rivaroxaban, usually taken orally, 10 mg in adults, can be taken with food or alone. The main adverse effect is the risk of bleeding, which is the most important thing to be aware of, so long-term monitoring of coagulation is necessary.
