Diagnosis and treatment of parotid tumors – Adenolymphoma

Adenolymphoma, also known as Warthin’s tumor, is a benign tumor found in the parotid gland, which has the following characteristics: 1. The tumor is mostly oval in shape, with smooth surface and soft texture, sometimes with elasticity. For the treatment of adenolymphoma of the parotid gland, surgery must be performed to remove not only the tumor, but also the parotid tissue surrounding the tumor to ensure no recurrence. If the tumor reaches the facial nerve, temporary or permanent facial palsy may occur after surgery, i.e., crookedness of the corners of the mouth and shallowing of the nasolabial folds.
