What are Varicose Veins

  Superficial varicose veins in the lower limbs are veins located in the subcutaneous fatty layer of the human body that are tortuous and dilated due to the increase of local pressure, and we call them superficial varicose veins when the diseased vessels are more than two times larger than the normal ones.  The main clinical manifestations of superficial varicose veins are: 1. soreness, heaviness and itching of lower limbs after activity; 2. swelling, pigmentation and skin breakdown of lower limbs after activity.  Treatment of superficial varicose veins: 1.Conservative treatment Reduce the pressure of lower limb veins: including elastic stocking support, air pressure pump treatment and oral medication to promote venous reflux.  2.Reducing the pressure of the veins by surgical means.
