Sulfobenzycillin sodium is a penicillin. Sulfobenzycillin sodium is a broad-spectrum, semi-synthetic penicillin. It is mainly used clinically for infections of the central nervous system, respiratory system, genitourinary system, and skin and soft tissues caused by Pseudomonas aeruginosa. After entering the body, sulfobenzylpenicillin sodium is widely distributed in the body, and most of it is excreted in the urine through the kidneys in its original form. The main adverse effects of this drug are allergic reactions, elevation of liver enzymes, impairment of renal function and prolongation of bleeding time in high doses, and in some cases, damage to the central nervous system, such as convulsions, which are contraindicated in patients with penicillin allergy.
