Pneumoconiosis is a systemic disease caused by diffuse fibrosis of lung tissue mainly due to long-term inhalation of productive dust during occupational activities and its retention in the lungs. Pneumoconiosis is the most important occupational disease in China, not only in terms of the number of people suffering from it, but also in terms of the danger it poses, being a disease that severely reduces work capacity, causes disability and affects life expectancy, and is the main occupational disease for which the state and companies compensate. Prevention of pneumoconiosis Prevention of dust hazards, primary prevention is fundamental, pneumoconiosis is a completely preventable disease. 1, control the source of dust, dust control and dust reduction: the cause of pneumoconiosis is the inhalation of pathogenic productive mineral dust, the absence of dust or control of dust concentration under the permissible concentration can eliminate pneumoconiosis or significantly reduce the risk of pneumoconiosis. 2, carry out health supervision and medical screening: health supervision and regular medical examination of personnel engaged in dust operations are the main means of early detection of pneumoconiosis patients. Early detection of patients or high-risk groups and early intervention measures can prevent further development of the disease and even keep high-risk groups from developing into pneumoconiosis patients. Doing well in health monitoring and medical screening is an important measure to do well in secondary prevention. 3, do a good job of tertiary prevention, prolong the life of the patient and improve the quality of life: for patients who already have pneumoconiosis, they should actively carry out tertiary prevention, that is, prevention of complications, including strengthening individual health care and appropriate physical activity, enhancing the body’s resistance, establishing good habits, not smoking, preventing colds and the occurrence of respiratory infections, and early detection and treatment of complications.
