Are small nodules in the lungs tuberculosis?

Tuberculosis can have pulmonary nodules, but having small pulmonary nodules is not always tuberculosis. The common sites of TB tend to be the posterior apical segment of the upper lobe and the dorsal segment of the lower lobe, and there are usually some satellite foci with small nodules next to the main lesion. Pulmonary nodules can be located in many other areas and are not limited to the posterior apical segment of the upper lobe and the dorsal segment of the lower lobe. If the nodules are considered to be caused by tuberculosis, they often have symptoms of tuberculosis toxicity, such as low fever in the afternoon, night sweats, malaise, and wasting, and a history of tuberculosis exposure, which should be highly alert to the possibility of tuberculosis, but not all pulmonary nodules are tuberculosis.
