What should I pay attention to after cataract surgery?

The only truly effective treatment for cataracts today is surgery, which involves removing the clouded lens (cataract). However, many cataract patients feel confused about the unknown of surgery. What should I pay attention to after cataract surgery? 1. Try to rest more on the day of surgery and avoid lowering your head and coughing. 2.Don’t smoke and drink after surgery, avoid excessive force and lifting heavy objects. 3. Come to the hospital for review on the first day, the third day and one week after discharge, and determine the medication to be used at home and the next review date according to the doctor’s prescription. 4.After medication change (discharge), go home and order anti-inflammatory eye drops, such as Dimethoate eye drops or Parsol eye drops 4-6 times a day, and Pernambucil eye drops 4 times a day. Some patients use pupil dilating medicine every night to dilate the pupil, which is usually ordered three times with an interval of 5 minutes between each time. 5. Post-operative eye blurring, mild foreign body sensation and orbital bruising are normal. If significant eye pain, nausea, vomiting or sudden loss of vision occurs, please do not be nervous and go to the hospital immediately. 6.A few patients have symptoms such as eye redness, photophobia and tearing after surgery, please go to the hospital for examination and early treatment in time. 7.Don’t let dirty water or soap water enter the operated eye within two weeks after surgery, don’t put pressure on the operated eye (rubbing the eye) and prevent trauma within four weeks. 8, 1 month after surgery, vision is not stable, generally 1-3 months after refractive power examination, if necessary, with a pair of low degree glasses, adjust the vision to see far or near, in order to achieve the best results. 9.Some patients need laser treatment for post-operative cataract. 10.If no IOL is implanted in young children after cataract surgery, they need to have glasses and amblyopia training in time and regular review.
