For patients suffering from lumbar spine diseases, whether they can fully recover after surgery, postoperative functional recovery exercises are especially important! The correct exercise method can effectively prevent nerve root adhesions, promote blood circulation of the body, and improve the resistance of the body. Exercise purpose: postoperative lumbar back muscle functional exercise can strengthen the stability of the lumbar spine, reduce postoperative complications and improve the efficacy of surgical treatment. Exercise method: 1, “five-point support” method: the patient adopts a supine position, using the five points (head, elbows, heels) as the fulcrum, try to lift the hips out of the bed, the lumbar back as much as possible suspended, in order to achieve the purpose of exercise lumbar back muscle (see Figure 1), the method is simple and easy to learn, can be used in the early postoperative period, usually 3-5 days after surgery can start Exercise. 2, “three-point support” method: supine position, upper limbs placed in front of the chest, using three points (head, double heel) as a fulcrum, waist and back as far back as possible, so that the back suspension. (See Figure II) The method is based on the five-point support method, to further exercise the muscles of the low back. 3, “small swallow fly”: prone position, abdominal support, double upper limbs, double lower limbs and head as far back as possible. (See Figure 3), the method requires high strength of the low back muscles, can be based on the above exercise of intensive exercise, usually 5-7 days after surgery can begin to use the method. (3) Lower limb and lumbar back extension Exercise principles: 1. The functional training program after lumbar spine surgery should be tailored to the individual, and the intensity of rehabilitation training should be decided according to age, condition, mode of surgery and the patient’s physical condition and tolerance. Do not blindly pursue exercise intensity. Surgical methods have a greater impact on the exercise content: for example, artificial disc replacement of the lumbar spine, due to the method of small damage to the stability of the spinal structure, three days after surgery, you can go to the ground, while lumbar fusion surgery, it usually takes 5-7 days to go to the ground. 2, any functional training should follow the principle of “step by step”, the number from small to large, time from short to long, intensity from weak to strong, and the number of times gradually increased. Exercise should be different according to each person’s situation and different, follow the principle of gradual progress, gradually increase the number of training and the number of times to the lumbar muscles without soreness as moderate 2-3 times a day, each time for 5-10 seconds, then put down the rest for 5-10 seconds, and then repeat the above actions, so repeatedly 5 -10 for once. 3.After the completion of functional training, it should be moderate to have no obvious soreness in both lower limbs and lumbar muscles. The purpose of wearing a lumbar girth and brace after surgery: 1, to maintain the normal physiological anterior convexity of the lumbar spine and increase the stability of the spine. 2.To reduce the load of the spine. 3.Prevent excessive lumbar torsion and rotation to speed up the fusion of bone graft.
