How long does it usually take to treat dry syndrome?

The length of the treatment period of dry syndrome depends on many factors such as the severity of the disease, the patient’s personal physical condition and the responsiveness to drugs, etc. There is no fixed time. Dry syndrome is a chronic autoimmune disease with slow progress, which can cause multi-system and multi-organ damage. If the patient’s condition is mild and only shows dry mouth and dry eyes without damage to important organs such as lungs and kidneys, only symptomatic treatment is needed and the treatment period is relatively short. If the patient’s condition is more serious and complications such as interstitial fibrosis of lung, kidney damage, blood and neurological lesions have occurred, treatment by glucocorticoids and immunosuppressants is needed, and the overall treatment period is long, which can reach several years or decades. Therefore, patients with dry syndrome should receive systematic and standardized treatment as early as possible, actively control the progress of the disease, prevent organ damage, and pay attention to a healthy diet and eat less spicy and stimulating food.
