There is no such thing as the most effective medication for epididymitis, and there are three kinds of treatment for epididymitis: general treatment, medication and surgery. 1. General treatment: Acute epididymitis requires bed rest, and the scrotum should be lifted up to avoid the scrotum sagging and aggravating the swelling of the scrotum. 2. Drug treatment: choose sensitive antibiotics according to the results of drug sensitivity test, commonly used drugs are Norfloxacin, Levofloxacin, Ceftazidime and so on. Symptoms will be relieved within 2 to 3 days, but antibiotic treatment needs to be continued for 3 to 4 weeks to prevent acute epididymitis from turning into chronic epididymitis. 3. Surgical treatment: When there is abscess formation in acute epididymitis, incision and drainage are needed to control the spread of inflammation. For tuberculous epididymitis with ineffective anti-tuberculosis treatment and chronic epididymitis with recurring episodes affecting work and life, total or partial epididymectomy will be performed according to the actual situation.
