A swelling in the posterior wall of the nasopharynx with a pus crust on the surface may be due to a nasopharyngeal cyst, nasopharyngeal angiofibroma, or nasopharyngeal cancer. There are different causes and different treatments, including surgical treatment, radiation therapy and so on.
1. Nasopharyngeal cyst: also known as pharyngeal cystitis, the cyst is usually removed by applying power system or low temperature plasma knife under nasal endoscopy.
2. Nasopharyngeal angiofibroma: nasopharyngeal angiofibroma resection can be performed under nasal endoscopy, which can remove the tumor and has the advantages of small trauma, fast recovery and no effect on facial appearance.
3. Nasopharyngeal cancer: clinically, nasopharyngeal cancer is usually treated with radiotherapy and chemotherapy, and if there is still residual metastatic foci in the neck after radiotherapy, it can be surgically removed.
It is suggested that patients should go to the hospital and have treatment after clarifying the cause of the disease, and do not use drugs without authorization.
