How long does it take for a wound to heal?

Wound healing time is related to the type of wound, degree of injury, care, presence of co-infection, presence of diabetes, etc. and cannot be generalized. The specific time for wound healing is related to many factors. In the case of head and facial wounds, the blood supply is richer and the healing time is usually 4-5 days; in the case of chest and back wounds, the healing time is usually 8-9 days; in the case of lower abdominal perineal wounds, the healing time is usually 6-7 days; in the case of extremity wounds, the healing time is usually 10-14 days because the blood supply is not particularly rich. The above data are for regular normal conditions without other combined diseases, and the time will be changed once the relevant risk factors are present. For example, in diabetic patients, the wound healing time can be significantly longer or even not heal for a long time. In addition, if the wound is infected in combination, the healing time will be correspondingly longer. It is recommended that during the wound healing period, strict attention be paid to the cleanliness of the wound site to avoid infection; a light diet, attention to nutrition, and avoiding spicy and stimulating foods.
