The most serious complication of liver surgery is hemorrhage. Unlike other organs, the liver is a substantial organ shared by a dual vascular system of the hepatic artery and portal vein, which is very rich in blood flow. With the current development of modern surgical science, liver surgery has also made great progress, not only the surgical skills have been improved, but also the instruments used in performing liver surgery have been significantly improved, the incidence of hemorrhage, which used to be the most dreadful, has significantly decreased, but intraoperative hemorrhage or postoperative bleeding is still the most serious complication after liver surgery. This is especially true for our country, which is a major hepatitis B country and has varying degrees of cirrhosis. It requires preoperative, intraoperative and postoperative attention to delicate manipulation and appropriate symptomatic treatment. In case of intraoperative hemorrhage, timely blood transfusion, ligation of the bleeding vessel and repair of the possible vascular fistula should be given, and in case of significant postoperative bleeding, interventional embolization should be considered and, if necessary, reoperation for hemostasis should be considered.
