How long does it take for chronic gastritis with erosion to heal?

Patients with chronic gastritis with erosion are treated with oral medication, which usually heals in 2-4 weeks with regular medication. However, in addition to routine oral proton pump inhibitors, and gastric mucosal protective agents, H. pylori should be retested. There is support in the literature that H. pylori infection is associated with chronic gastritis with erosive disease and that patients with chronic gastritis with erosive disease have a faster clinical healing time if H. pylori is successfully eradicated. Such patients require a repeat gastroscopy after 2-4 weeks of oral medication to see if the microscopic presentation is fully healed.
