How does Chinese medicine deal with the response to radiotherapy for prostate cancer?

  Prostate cancer radiotherapy often results in drug-related reactions. Generally speaking, it is a disorder of the spleen and stomach, liver and kidney deficiency, and deficiency of both qi and blood, which should be treated by “supporting the righteous and dispelling the evil”.  Gastrointestinal reactions: nausea, dullness, weakness, treatment is to strengthen the spleen and resolve dampness, commonly used to add or subtract Ginseng and Atractylodis Macrocephalae, Ping Gastrocephalae, Huo Xiang Zheng Qi, Xuan Yu Dai Qing Tang or Han Xia Di Xin Tang.  Bone marrow suppression and anemia: Treatment is to benefit qi and replenish blood. Commonly used is Angelica Sinensis Blood Tonic Soup or Gui Shen Tang with addition and subtraction. In order to prevent nourishment and obstruction of the stomach, food-eliminating drugs can be added as appropriate, but androgenic drugs such as Epimedium, deer whip, sheep testicles, etc. should not be used.
