Can high transaminases come down with a day’s rest?

Some people have elevated aminotransferases because they stay up late and don’t pay attention to rest. If this is the cause, and the aminotransferases are mildly elevated, less than 10 U/L above the normal value, they may return to normal after a full day of rest. However, in some cases, the aminotransferases are elevated more than 5 times the normal value and the chance of returning to normal after only one day of rest is almost zero. In some patients, elevated transaminases are not caused by exertion, but by high viral replication or inflammatory infections, and it is difficult to normalize transaminases through rest alone without antiviral or anti-infection treatment.
