Hello, dear patient! We have prepared post-amniocentesis precautions for you, so that you and your family can check them after the procedure. 1. Amniocentesis is an abdominal needle, and a band-aid will be put on the eye of the needle after the puncture, so if you are allergic, you can tear it off immediately. If you are not allergic, you can tear it off after going home or on the second day after the puncture. 2. Please do not take a shower on the day after surgery. If you must take a shower, please put a waterproof patch on the eye of the needle to prevent infection. 3.Please take rest for 2 weeks after surgery. If there are no special circumstances, bed rest is not necessary. If you need a sick leave slip, please ask the puncturing doctor to issue one after the puncture. 4. Amniocentesis is a minor outpatient procedure in our center, and the general risk of miscarriage is less than 1 per 1,000. The following conditions may increase the chance of miscarriage: (1) infection (various inflammatory diseases); (2) high fever; (3) vaginal bleeding; (4) vaginal bleeding (premature rupture of membranes); (5) abnormal fetal movement (less than 10 fetal movements in 24 hours or no fetal movement); (6) unexplained abdominal pain; (7) pathological pregnancy (such as hyperemesis, gestational diabetes, cholestasis syndrome, etc.); (8) underlying diseases (e.g. heart disease, kidney disease, thyroid disease, etc.); (9) external forces, such as falls, impacts, etc. If you have any of the above conditions, you should inform the outpatient physician truthfully in order to arrange a suitable time for the operation. 5. Please do not be anxious or tired after amniocentesis. If you experience any discomfort, you can follow up with your local hospital outpatient clinic or emergency clinic. 6. Please keep the phone open as the amniocentesis result will be notified by phone. If you have filled out a courier slip, please write down the slip number. 7.If there are any special circumstances, you can inform the notification personnel (when the results are notified by phone). 8.If the result is abnormal, it is recommended to return to our hospital to register for genetic counseling.
