What are the medications used to treat ADHD?

Medications are one of the most important means of treating ADHD and are currently available in the following categories: (1) Central stimulants: i.e., methylphenidate hydrochloride. It is the first-line drug for the treatment of ADHD. Its efficacy can reach 75%. Including the long-acting concentrated da and short-acting Ritalin. (2) Zestar: i.e., tomoxetine. It is also the first line of treatment for ADHD. Its efficacy is comparable to that of methylphenidate. (3) Colistin: It is also a good treatment for ADHD, especially for children with ADHD combined with Tourette’s syndrome. (4) antidepressants: tricyclic antidepressants such as amitriptyline, promethazine, selective 5-hydroxytryptamine reuptake inhibitors such as sertraline, fluvoxamine, fluoxetine, etc., tricyclic due to the large side effects, limiting its use, and the latter because the efficacy is not significant, can only be used as a replacement drug. (5) Traditional Chinese medicine: Traditional Chinese medicine has accumulated a lot of clinical experience in the treatment of hyperactivity, and there are many proprietary medicines and prescriptions for the treatment of hyperactivity, such as Jingling Oral Liquid, Duodian Ning Capsule, Pediatric Intelligence Syrup, Di Mu Ning Shen Oral Liquid, etc., but the efficacy lacks a large sample of double-blind randomized controlled studies.
