Dietary principles for patients with abnormal thought control

  While normal people’s thinking is subjectively controlled by themselves, some patients with schizophrenia feel that their thinking is not under their control, or experience that their thinking no longer belongs to them, but is controlled by an external force. This means that the patient feels that their thinking does not belong to them, that their thinking activity has lost its autonomy, or that they feel controlled by an external force. Examples of such experiences are thought deprivation, thought insertion, and thought diffusion. Thought insertion, thought deprivation, and thought diffusion are common in the early stages of schizophrenia and in the full development of symptoms.  Dietary principles for patients with abnormal thought control Psychiatric patients are accustomed to a high-calorie diet and should actually control their high-calorie diet intake. High-calorie food increases the oxidation of brain cells, impairs memory affects decreased academic performance, and irritability follows; coupled with the fact that schizophrenic patients do not exercise, they tend to gain weight and cause diabetes and hypertension, even without medication, so a high-calorie diet should be controlled.  For patients who do not talk, nor eat or drink, and do not exercise, we should persuade them to eat, and if necessary, give nasal feedings of fluids, such as soy milk, milk, thin rice, juice, and vegetable juice; and put some meals next to the bed so that they can eat and drink without anyone else.  Patients with delusional disorder choose to go on hunger strike because of distrust, we should persuade them to eat and drink, and choose some sealed food if necessary, or choose a trusted family member to make some food that meets the taste, but pay attention to some contraindications.  Anti-psychotic drugs are generally to improve the condition to enhance appetite, some patients do not know hunger and satiety, and eat more at one time, so we should be regular and quantitative in terms of diet.  Patients with anxiety, panic and irritability can use lily, boil it with the right amount of water, and finally add some rock sugar to taste, and take it twice a day.  Patients with palpitations and anxiety can use some wolfberries, which can be eaten raw or boiled with the right amount of water.  Patients with schizophrenia should not drink alcohol, which increases excitatory neurotransmitters and causes oxidative damage; they should not smoke, which increases norepinephrine, which increases somatic metabolism and causes neuronal destruction. Avoid spicy and stimulating diets, forbid tea and coffee, etc.  Patients with schizophrenia should eat more bananas, which are a major source of tryptophan and vitamins and B6, all of which can help with serotonin production, in the brain, and reduce anxiety. The use of bananas in moderation has a good therapeutic effect on the patient’s brain, in terms of healing. Drinking plenty of water and making sure that you are hydrated every day can avoid constipation and keep your bowels open for the elimination of toxic substances.
