Treatment of gallstones

Bile stagnation, bacterial infection, and changes in the chemical composition of bile are the main causes of gallstones and chronic cholecystitis, while the secretion of bile, contraction of the gallbladder and discharge of bile in a person are directed and coordinated by the neural “command” (brain), and then through the “commander “(plant nerves) to convey the orders of the “command” and to govern the work of the biliary system. If a person is mentally stressed and depressed for a long time, it can make the internal organ “commander” dysfunctional and unable to convey orders, which can make the bile flow poorly, bile stagnation in the gallbladder, bile components disproportionate, and easy to secondary infection, and promote stone generation. Therefore, according to Chinese medicine, if you keep a happy mood, you will be able to achieve a smooth flow of liver qi and bile excretion, thus preventing bile stagnation from causing cholecystitis and gallstones. A good diet is also the key to preventing cholecystitis and gallstones. Excessive consumption of fat, sweet and greasy, moisture and heat is the basis for gallstones, so it is important to moderate nutrition and limit the amount of fat and cholesterol in the diet, especially pay attention to not consuming too much cholesterol and animal fat. Such as egg yolk, animal offal, seafood, fried food, etc. Chinese medicine treatment for cholecystitis and gallstones is based on dredging the liver, clearing heat and dampness, and has obvious advantages and characteristics in anti-inflammatory and biliary, stone removal and stone dissolution. Commonly used herbs: Chai Hu, Chicken Nei Jin, Yu Jin, Money Grass, Curcuma longa, Citrus aurantium, Hou Pu, Mu Xiang, Scutellaria baicalensis, Paeonia lactiflora, Tiger Balm, Rhubarb, Green Peel, Wu Mei, Yin Chen and Licorice. The specific treatment should be based on the patient’s different conditions and combined with TCM evidence-based treatment in order to achieve better results. In terms of traditional Chinese medicine, such as Bile Shu capsule, Golden Bile tablet, Bile and Stone Pill, etc. also have good efficacy. Generally speaking, gallbladder stones less than 0.6cm in diameter and bile duct stones less than 1cm in diameter can be discharged only when the gallbladder function is basically normal. At this time, the effect of acupuncture (foot sanli, yanglingquan and bile duct points) and ear acupuncture (liver, gallbladder, pancreas and shenmen points) will be more obvious. However, it should be noted that there are a lot of herbal medicines available in the market for stone removal, but some of them are too exaggerated and cannot be trusted. In addition, blind lithotripsy may cause acute attacks of cholecystitis and even induce complications such as acute pancreatitis. Especially in the acute stage, or patients with obstructive jaundice is a contraindication, and in turn even cause serious consequences such as gallbladder gangrene.
