What’s going on with diabetic foot

  In recent years, the incidence of diabetes in China has increased more than four times compared to 10 years ago, and 20% of these diabetic patients may suffer from diabetic foot during their lifetime, so what is diabetic foot?  Diabetic foot is a foot disorder caused by loss of sensation in the foot or loss of mobility due to ischemia in combination with infection in diabetic patients due to neuropathy or/and vasculopathy in the lower limbs. The most common consequence is chronic ulceration of the foot, and the most serious outcome is amputation.  Diabetic foot lesions are the result of a complex interaction between many factors, including peripheral neuropathy, vascular disease, and poor foot hygiene. The magnitude of the role played by each factor varies from person to person. It is one of the most dreaded diabetic complications because its consequences can lead to lower limb amputation.
