The steps for surgical disinfection are as follows: 1. The surgeon should follow the surgical handwashing method for thorough handwashing, following the 7-step handwashing method, washing both hands, upper arms, forearms and disinfecting them with hand sanitizer, disinfecting the upper arms to at least 10 cm above the elbow joint, and disinfecting the hands in an upraised position, but not too high, making sure not to sag to avoid infection, then rinsing them and wiping them clean with a sterilized towel. 2. To remove stains and oil stains from the patient’s surgical skin and wipe them off. 3. Pre-operative disinfection with the surgical incision as the center, including the surrounding area of about 15 cm, using 3% concentration of tincture of iodine to rub the skin of the disinfected area, with the natural drying of the tincture of iodine and wipe off the tincture of iodine with 70% concentration of alcohol, and the number of times of disinfection is 3 times, not to be repeatedly rubbed back and forth. 4. When disinfection, the surgical area should be coated from top to bottom, from the center to the surrounding principle, generally at least 3 times disinfection, to be disinfected in the surgical area after the laying of sterile towels.
