The decision to perform immunohistochemistry after liver puncture needs to be made on a case-by-case basis. Hepatocentesis and liver puncture often refer to obtaining liver tissue for histologic examination or cytologic examination by direct puncture through the skin under ultrasound or CT guidance or under laparoscopy, which is currently used to diagnose hepatocellular carcinoma, cirrhosis of the liver, autoimmune liver disease and so on. If the patient is suspected to have liver cancer after liver puncture, it is recommended to do immunohistochemistry examination to clarify the type of liver cancer. If liver cancer is ruled out after liver puncture, immunohistochemistry is not necessary. Hepatocentesis is an invasive operation with certain operation risks, patients should go to regular hospitals and have the operation performed by qualified doctors.
