Current research shows that as long as the surgery is successful and complete removal of tumor, its tumor control efficacy is comparable to that of performing total nephrectomy. Moreover, since preserving the kidney its postoperative renal function is better than that of patients with total nephrectomy, therefore, only with experience, kidney preservation surgery can be fully considered, especially for young and chronically ill patients, so the kidney can be actively preserved for those patients who can. However, it needs to be combined with the experience and skill of the attending surgeon and whether the local hospital has an interventional department (to deal with postoperative bleeding complications), because tumor treatment takes tumor control as the first priority, if the tumor ruptures or incomplete removal may lead to life-threatening, its efficacy is not as good as the whole nephrectomy, and only complete removal of the tumor can give new life to the patient. For doctors each operation is just a number, but for each patient this is a life and a family.
