The incidence of prostate cancer in China is gradually increasing due to changes in lifestyle and rising living standards. More and more elderly men around us are being diagnosed with prostate cancer. The patients themselves and their family members are still “scared” of cancer and are not immune to panic. The first thing I say to a prostate cancer patient is “prostate cancer does not kill you”, the second thing is “but it requires standardized treatment and close follow-up”, and the third thing is “prostate cancer treatment requires a good The third sentence is “Prostate cancer treatment requires a good economic foundation”. The second sentence is “However, regular treatment and close follow-up are required” and the third sentence is “Treatment of prostate cancer requires a good financial basis”. The first thing you need to do is to get a good idea of what you are getting into. If the tumor breaks through the prostate envelope, it is not suitable for radical resection, but only for radiotherapy or androgen blocking therapy depending on the presence of distant metastases, and in fact conservative treatment is very effective. Our urology department has treated many patients with prostate cancer, and the experience of patients followed for many years has shown very good results. For men over the age of 55, it is important to review blood levels of PSA (prostate-specific antigen) annually for early diagnosis and exclusion. Because prostate cancer does not have its own unique symptoms, the occurrence of prostate cancer is also the usual manifestation of frequent urination and difficulty in urination, only a blood test for PSA can determine the presence of prostate cancer. In the event the tumor does not break through the envelope, surgery is the best way to cure it. I did radical surgery on a 70-year-old patient with prostate cancer in Xianning in September 2011. I have seen post-operative recurrences or local progressions, and the general requirement is to continue with medication or consider local radiotherapy, which is also very effective, only to be reviewed regularly. Local radiotherapy is a very good way to treat locally progressive prostate cancer that is not amenable to radical surgery, but many of our doctors do not agree or value the role of radiotherapy in the treatment of prostate cancer. For the pain of bone metastases, local irradiation can also reduce the symptoms. Aggressive treatment of bone metastases from prostate cancer is also an important component, but often doctors overlook this aspect. Prostate cancer is a more important stage 2 to 3 years after detection, and many people tend to progress to ineffective hormone blockade therapy. But happily, there are now many options available to treat hormone-non-dependent prostate cancer. Finally, it is important to emphasize that you can’t die from prostate cancer, so there is no need to stress about it.
