What tests are needed before surgery for patients with gastrointestinal mesenchymal tumors?

For patients with gastrointestinal mesenchymal tumor, preoperative examination includes two aspects: the first aspect is the examination related to tumor staging. Abdominal CT, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and ultrasound endoscopy (to determine the relationship between the tumor and the surrounding organs) will be routinely performed. Patients suspected to have bone metastasis or lung metastasis also need to add bone scan or lung CT; on the other hand is the routine preoperative examination, including patient’s physical assessment, electrocardiogram, pulmonary function, blood routine, blood biochemistry, coagulation function and so on. Please consult your doctor in detail for specific precautions before the examination.
