Pressing pain in the middle of the chest may be due to costochondritis or inflammation of the sternoclavicular joint in the chest. When there is pressure pain in the middle of the chest, the first thing to do is to have a CT examination of the chest to exclude whether there is any tumor in the mediastinum or the ribs of the sternum. After excluding tumors, we should consider costochondritis or sternoclavicular joint inflammation, which is mainly due to the pain in the middle of the chest caused by chest expansion or poor resistance of the human body. Costochondritis can be self-healing or recurring, sometimes with localized enlargement. When the localized enlargement presses on the surrounding organs and symptoms occur, costochondritis dissections should be performed.
