Can rhinitis become cancerous?

Rhinitis is a benign lesion and usually does not become cancerous, but there are a few very special cases that may cause cancer, specifically in the following aspects: First, rhinitis is an inflammatory lesion of the nasal mucosa caused by bacterial or viral infection, which sometimes shows epithelial hyperplasia, but usually the cell polarity is well maintained and there is no heterogeneity, so cancer will not occur in general. Secondly, if rhinitis is allowed to develop without corresponding treatment, long-term congestion, edema and even erosion will stimulate the proliferation of nasal mucosa, which will also cause atypical hyperplastic changes in nasal mucosa, especially severe atypical hyperplasia, which will easily become cancerous. It is recommended that patients suffering from rhinitis must actively seek medical advice to clarify the diagnosis so as not to delay the condition.
