Father’s old pipe

Chronic bronchitis (chronicbronchitis) is a chronic non-specific inflammation of the trachea, bronchial mucosa and surrounding tissues caused by infectious or non-infectious factors. The disease occurs in association with chronic irritation, such as with long-term irritation from smoking, harmful dust, smoke (biofuels), and atmospheric pollution. In addition, viruses, bacteria, or allergens, climate change, etc. can cause the onset of the disease. people over 45 years of age, smokers, and those living or working in areas with high air pollution are at high risk. Chronic bronchitis has a slow onset and long duration, with onset lasting 3 months or more each year for 2 years or more, and excluding other diseases that cause cough and sputum. The typical symptoms include cough and sputum, or with wheezing and shortness of breath. When patients have obvious symptoms of cough and sputum with or without symptoms of shortness of breath after activity and fever, they should seek medical attention promptly. Chronic bronchitis is mainly treated symptomatically. Symptomatic treatment includes cough suppression, expectoration and wheezing. Anti-infective treatment is required when the patient has a co-infection. Some patients with chronic bronchitis can have their symptoms controlled, while some patients can develop chronic obstructive pulmonary disease or even progress to chronic pulmonary heart disease, which can affect their daily life and work in severe cases. Prevention is important: you should quit smoking and avoid exposure to secondhand smoke, and you should also avoid exposure to airborne bronchial irritants; you can open the windows regularly to avoid getting cold and flu; you can get vaccinated against influenza, pneumococcal vaccine, etc. My father was frugal all his life and was a smoker before he died, and he couldn’t afford to spend money on ready-made boxes of cigarettes, but he only loved his old pipe, and always smoked the simplest tobacco leaves stuffed into the pipe. This kind of unfiltered smoke is more damaging to the body, especially to the bronchial tubes and lungs. Therefore, after his death, we did not give him his old pipe, which he loved so much, hoping that he would be a “smoke-free” person in heaven and free from the pain of illness.
