What is the effect of radiotherapy for squamous lung cancer?

Lung squamous carcinoma is mainly central type lung cancer, and the treatment effect is related to the radiation dose. Generally, the irradiation dose for lung squamous carcinoma is 6000-7000 cGy, if it is combined with chemotherapy, only 5600-6600 cGy can be given, while the patient’s symptoms can be improved significantly. If the tumor control dose is not reached, the symptom improvement is poorer. Squamous lung cancer is a moderately sensitive tumor for radiotherapy. Small tumor lesions with diameter <5cm are usually treated with conformal intensity modulation or localized large irradiation WBRT, and the patient's cough, sputum, chest suffocation, shortness of breath and even coughing up blood can be significantly relieved during the treatment.
