Is it possible to perform lobectomy with a single operating port?

Recently, several patients with routine lobectomies were selected for minimally invasive thoracoscopic single-operating-hole surgery in our department. The results proved that it is perfectly possible to complete lobectomy with a single operating hole, and the operation is not very complicated. The size of the surgical incision is comparable to that of the main operating hole incision in the previous two-operating-hole surgery, and the operation time is no longer than that of the two-operating-hole surgery. The advantages are: one less incision, further reduction in bleeding and trauma, and more importantly, because the subscapularis incision (the main source of pain) is removed, pain symptoms are greatly reduced and minimized, and patients experience a corresponding reduction in complications such as pulmonary atelectasis.
