New concept of cerebrovascular disease diagnosis and treatment

Stroke (also known as cerebrovascular disease, stroke, cerebral infarction, cerebral infarction, cerebral hemorrhage) is one of the three major diseases and causes of death in China. New anti-stroke drugs and treatments are emerging, however, their therapeutic effects are not satisfactory, which is why a new stroke treatment and prevention model, stroke unit, has been introduced. Studies at home and abroad have shown that patients who enter stroke unit treatment have fewer deaths, fewer sequelae of paralysis, improved self-care and quality of life, shorter hospital stays, and reduced medical expenses. What is a stroke unit? It is the management of stroke patients from treatment and rehabilitation during hospitalization to follow-up and health education after discharge, breaking the original situation of each patient working separately, handling patients according to a well-defined process, integrating resources from all aspects, and organically combining treatment methods and rehabilitation measures to form a standard, a complete system, so that patients can receive more ideal treatment. Upon arrival at the hospital, relevant examinations are completed as early as possible to make a correct diagnosis and assessment, and the best treatment plan is implemented according to the different types of stroke. For example, ultra-early thrombolytic therapy for cerebral infarction, minimally invasive surgery for massive cerebral hemorrhage, etc., and timely intervention in rehabilitation and early and orderly rehabilitation training. After acute treatment, the patients are gradually transferred to groups or teams according to the treatment flow and given targeted treatment according to the different stages of the disease. In a word, the stroke unit mainly emphasizes the organic combination of both acute phase treatment and early rehabilitation training.
