How to treat common bile duct stones more effectively

In clinical practice, common bile duct stones with acute septic cholangitis is one of the common acute abdominal conditions. If not treated actively it can lead to infectious shock and endanger the patient’s life. Gallstones are one of the most common causes of acute pancreatitis. Acute pancreatitis is also one of the common acute abdominal conditions. Resuscitation treatment of severe pancreatitis is expensive and the morbidity and mortality rate is high. Therefore, common bile duct stones should be treated aggressively. Treatment of common bile duct stones is divided into conservative medical treatment, herbal medicine treatment and surgical treatment. Surgical treatment in turn includes traditional surgical dissection and retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) with duodenoscopic lithotomy (EST) for stone extraction and lithotripsy. For stones less than l cm in diameter, Chinese herbal medicine is preferred for lithotripsy and lithotripsy treatment. The author has treated a large number of such patients in the clinic for more than 20 years, and most of the stones can be discharged with definite efficacy, no obvious toxic side effects and extremely low cost. This is the advantage of Chinese herbal medicine in the treatment of acute abdominal disease. For stones larger than 1 cm in diameter, endoscopic lithotripsy may be preferred if lithotripsy with Chinese medicine is ineffective. Surgical dissection is also a hopeless option for stones larger than 2 cm in diameter.
