How long after the head is hit to confirm that it is okay

How long after the head is hit to confirm that it is okay is mainly related to the patient’s injury situation and age, and cannot be generalized. If the patient is under 50 years old, he or she needs to be closely observed for 24 hours after the head is hit. If the CT examination of the head does not suggest abnormalities such as bleeding, the situation is generally stable after 72 hours and can be confirmed to be fine. However, if the patient is over 50 years old, there may be a chronic bleeding process, because of the vascular structure of the elderly, physical reasons and other factors, slow-onset secondary epidural or subdural hematoma may occur, and this condition is often found only after the hematoma has expanded to a certain extent and after several weeks, and the duration is usually 1 month, during which the patient’s state of consciousness needs to be closely observed. After a patient’s head is hit, close observation for dizziness, headache, nausea, vomiting, limb movement disorders, hemiparesis and other symptoms must be observed within 72 hours, and cranial CT should be reviewed; elderly patients need extended observation time.
