Healthy people who drink whole milk in moderation are usually less likely to gain weight. The difference in fat content between whole milk and other ordinary milk is not great. A cup of 300ml of milk has a fat content of about 20 g. Under normal circumstances, adults need to consume 50~80 g of fat per day to meet their basic energy needs. Therefore, drinking 1~2 cups of milk a day does not lead to excessive fat intake or obesity. If weight gain is significant, one should consider whether there are other causes of obesity and should not consider that there is a relationship with drinking whole milk. It is only necessary to properly control the total amount of milk drunk throughout the day. Moreover, whole milk is more nutritious and comprehensive, which is good for health. The Dietary Guidelines for Chinese Residents suggests that adults need to consume 300-500g of milk and its products per day.
