How to stay away from stroke in winter?

As late autumn draws to a close, it also means that winter is approaching. We all know that the incidence of stroke (whether it is ischemic stroke: cerebral infarction, cerebral embolism, transient ischemic attack or hemorrhagic stroke: cerebral hemorrhage, subarachnoid hemorrhage) is closely related to the change of seasons and climate, and it is generally believed that winter is the high incidence season of stroke. Why is this? In the cold winter, people coincidentally reduce the time and frequency of going outdoors, sweating is also reduced, energy consumption is also reduced, in order to resist the cold, people may consume more and higher calories, so that fat is unknowingly hoarded, followed by a quiet increase in weight. In addition, due to the big difference in temperature between day and night, indoor and outdoor, the diastolic function of blood vessels also undergoes rapid changes, for healthy people, the body will automatically adjust to this change, so that blood pressure and blood rheology and other changes tend to stabilize. However, for those elderly people, this auto-regulation function has been significantly reduced, coupled with pre-existing diseases such as hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipidemia, coronary arrhythmias, such as atrial fibrillation, etc., in the above circumstances, there is a possibility of aggravation, and then easy to induce stroke. So, in the cold winter, how do we prevent stroke? 1, to rational diet: try to reduce the intake of high-fat, high-calorie diet, eat more vegetables and fruits, mixed food, reduce the intake of sodium, which is conducive to lowering blood pressure. 2, keep enough sleep, appropriate to outdoor activities, enhance the body’s ability to resist disease, but the elderly should pay special attention to keep warm, because the cold stimulation, often make the sympathetic nerve excitability increased, so that vasoconstriction leads to increased blood pressure. 3.Reduce social functions, avoid overeating, bring a body weight at home, often measure the weight, in order to control the amount of food, away from obesity. 4, actively treat risk factors of stroke such as hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipidemia, coronary heart disease, etc., and do regular medical check-ups to prevent stroke. 5, to grasp some common symptoms of stroke, when you find the following conditions: dizziness, double vision, swallowing disorder or one side of the face numbness, one side of the limb numbness or inability to move, serious urinary and fecal incontinence, coma, etc., you should seek medical advice in a timely manner, do not delay the condition and treatment because of cold or fear of trouble.
