Whether kidney stones increase the risk of kidney tumors is a matter of concern for both doctors and patients. There are few studies on this topic. From the available information, long-term kidney stones increase the risk of kidney tumors, mainly renal cancer and pelvic cancer, and the risk of pelvic cancer is higher than that of renal cancer, and the risk is higher in men than in women, and in young patients with stones than in older patients. However, this increased risk is not the same as developing a tumor. Overall, cases of kidney stones combined with kidney tumors are rare. For cases of kidney stones combined with renal cancer and cases of kidney stones combined with pelvic cancer, see my separate presentation. Preoperative diagnosis of renal stone combined with pelvic cancer is difficult to establish. Hematuria may be a clue. Kidney stones combined with renal pelvis cancer are more malignant and prone to metastasis, with more serious consequences. Patients with suspicion should be screened for renal pelvis cancer.
